Templo II

Templo II (Temple 2 or Temple 5D-2) from Tikal is also known as the Templo Del Mascaras (Temple of the Masks). It dates from the Late Classic Period, but more accurate dating puts it at the turn of the 8th century, as it was built by King Jasaw Chan K’awiil I as a mausoleum for his late wife, Lady Kalajuun Une’ Mo’, who died in 704 AD (read more).
