Rear South Corner of Acropolis

This is the rear South Corner of the Acropolis, behind building 1B-1, and demonstrates the fine masonry skills of the builders at Quirigua during its apogee in the late 8th Century. This defensive wall also seems to hint at a desire to protect the acropolis (click here to read about The Acropolis).
