South face of Structure XX
The south side of Structure XX features two once magnificent Monster Mouth portals that are linked by a stairway. This southern face was clearly the main focus of the building, which sugests it played a role in honouring the winter sun as it was reborn on the solstice. See the article Structure XX: A Timepiece in Stone for more information.
