Monument 1, Tortuguero
Monument 1 from the Mayan city of Tortuguero. A stele inscribed with 25 glyphs and a jaguar at the base. The glyphs start with a date which corresponds to the year 645 AD. The stele dates from the Classic Era, 600AD to 900AD.
