Ball player relief
This relief is mounted in the wall in the northwest corner at the base of Platform Sur. It shows a ball player in ritual game attire with his arms tied behind his back. He stands on a platform with a skull within it. The scene undoubtedly relates to a sacrificial ceremony, but there was no information given and I have been unable to find out any more information since. We commented at the time about the curious colour, but I have no idea if this is a facsimile or not – it certainly looks original. © Robin Heyworth, taken on 27th December 2001
