Edificio E – A glimpse beneath the facade
You can imagine how beautiful the buildings at Monte Alban would have once been, with elegant geometric designs and cut stone facade. But did you imagine that underneath the beautiful casing of these temples lay rubble? Well, here you can see, flanking the staircase, the exposed stone rubble body of the building, and this is the common technique across Mesoamerica. © Robin Heyworth, taken on 27th December 2001
