East face of Structure XX
The eastern side of Chicanna Structure XX is near identical to the west side, with two Chenes style chambers on the lower floor and the upper chamber facing the sunrise. The curious masks found on the stone benches inside the lower chambers are just about visible through the central entrance in this photo. The masks appear to be markers for counting the days of the lunar month. See the article Structure XX: A Timepiece in Stone for more information.
