The Olmec Heads are amongst the most iconic ancient artefacts. They are as awesome as they are inexplicable, leading to centuries of debate about their purpose and who they represent. They undoubtedly look African, but they date from the 1st millenium B.C. They are, therefore one of the great mysteries of the ancient world.
