Stone Head in East Court
This stone head sits on the east side of the East Court at Copan. He wears a knotted headdress and features the mesmeric eyes of the Gods and rests on an emblem of the Sun. He would once have adorned one of the buildings, and perhaps one of those that was unfortunately swept away by the river before it was redirected in the early 19th century.
