Tabasco Fire-Bucket

As with W0375, this is a cylindrical fire-basket and was found by Carlos Pellicer Camara within the “gruta de Tapijulapo”. The basket could have been filled with wood to heat a room, but considering the imagery of a priest standing upon the head of a mosquito, it is more likely that it was filled with incense which was burned during religious ceremonies. That said, it could well have been filled with wood and incense to keep the rooms warm and the mosquitos away at night.
